How do you Ensure using DAO 3.51?

How does one "ensure that the 97 database is using DAO
3.51 and compile your database to this reference."?

If it is the only entry into your references then Access 97 will use DAO
3.51. Do not have ADO referenced or any other version of DAO, such as 3.6.
