How do you go to the second colum after you already set it?

after you set the colums how do you go to the second colum?

Fill up the first column, and the text will flow to the second column. To start
the second column prematurely, press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to insert a column break.

If you want to keep things in the second column aligned with certain things in
the first column, then you need to use a table instead of the Format > Column
command. See http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/UsingColumns.htm.
