How do you actually implement an outline when typing? I want to
Format/Bullets & Numbering/Outline Numbered and created a custom outline:
A.
1.
a.
However, when I'm done with A and want to go to 1, how do I do that? If hit
Enter, I go to B.

Hit indent not enter!

Well, after experimenting, it seems you hit Enter then Tab to bring up the
next lower echelon of the outline.

Now, if you're at "2." under "A.", how do you move to "B."?

Hi Jack,

Press Tab to demote to the next outline level and Shift + Tab to
promote the previous outline level. Note you must be at the beginning
of the line to use the keyboard commands.

If you prefer to 'click' then you can use the Increase Indent and
Decrease Indent commands on the Formatting toolbar.

Hi Jack,

If you are using the Outlining toolbar then it does have Promote and
Demote commands (the icons are arrows).

On the Formatting toolbar (the one that has Bold, Italic, Underline,
etc.) you'll find the Increase Indent and Decrease Indent. :)
