How do you improve handwritting recognition in onenote

T

Thomas

I noticed that when I write stuff in one note that handwriting recognition is
not so great. Is there a way to improve this? (without improving my
handwritting =)

Your handwriting must be particularly bad if you're having problems ;)

It's the same advice given for general handwriting recognition on a
Tablet: Write as neatly as possible, keep your lines vertical (use the
grid lines to assist with this).

Thomas,

Adding words to the User Dictionary using a Dictionary Management Tool is
one of the best things you can do to improve the accuracy of handwriting
recognition. This is particularly important if you are working with
lexicons that are specialized. The recongizers (Latin-based) are
word/segment based, not character based. With the correct words in your
User Dictionary, you can even mispell the word and it will be recognized.

Even if you don't convert ink to text, having it correctly recognized is
important for searching notes.

Unfortunately, OneNote doesn't access a correction interface like the TIP so
adding words to the User Dictionary involves an additional step.

You can find additional information at the website in my sig.

Write in straight lines - Ruled lines helps - choose a size that your
handwriting fits within.

In reference to the replied message.. not only vertical lines vertical...
but keep your sentances straight... angled sentances gennerally get the
recognizer screwed up and think its words on multiple lines, even if its one
word...
