how do you insert text?

When I use the writing pad, input panel transforms my handwriting into text,
but when I press INSERT, text dissappears and I get nothing.

Any suggestions??

You have to make sure that: A) You are in text insert mode in OneNote,
and B) The text cursor is actually placed somewhere in your text.

I have the same problem in Windows Journal. It's annoying. I would
like some warning that the text I am about to insert is going into
cyberspace. It can't be that hard to warn someone about the impending
text entry loss.

Good point. That is a problem with the TIP itself. Perhaps you could take
it up in the Tablet PC group.

The longstanding UI and contextual clues have not changed with the
introduction of the Pen input or the Tip. If the insertion point is not
present, or not where you want it to be, no amount of mashing the keys on
the keyboard will make the text appear.

#1) Windows Journal oddly doesn't even have a Insert Text Button
#2) When using the INK in Journal, and there is an attempt to insert
Text ... from the Clipboard, Journal will insert a TextBox and place
the text on the Journal page.

When doing the same thing from the TIP, it throws the text into
Cyberspace. This is especially painful after using the slow TIP to
start with. This is a bug not a feature.
