how do you know the users accessed the excel sheet on other pc

help me on the following problem
we are developing a vb application.
in our progect we are using one shred folder, this shared foled is used
by lot of users. this folder contains excel sheets. if some one using
this spread sheet i need to know the user who is using that throug vb
code. please help me on this.
