How do you make the watermark borderless in a document?

I'm trying to use an image as a watermark and it appears borderless in my
document but when I go to print it. It has a white border around it.

I'm using Word 2007 and my printer is a Canon Pixma MP750.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hi DranaOwl,

Try selecting the image, then select the transparency tool from the picture toolbar and click on the image background. Provided the
background is a solid white & not dithered, this should hide the image background when you print. Note that it will also hide any
other white portions of the image ...

Cheers

From another perspective - I get the impression that the "white border" is
*not* a part of the image but you mean that the watermark isn't covering the
entire page when printed although it appears to on screen.

If this is the case the problem is with the printer. Not all [in fact, not
very many] printers can print to cover an entire full-size page even though
they are advertised to do "Borderless Prints" - they're limited to 5X7 or
smaller. Larger format imposes a minimum margin setting. Re-check the
instructions for your printer if you're convinced that it should be able to
print edge-to-edge regardless of paper size. You may also find info on the
Canon site.

Thank you,

You were spot on. I had to upgrade my driver to a Vista compatible version
& then I found out that the borderless printing only works on the photo
paper. It will bleed to much on the ends of plain paper.

I appreciate your assistance.

Thanks macropod,

This wasn't quite what I was looking for as the main image is a big white
golf ball but it's interesting to find different ways of working around an
issue.
