How do you open a swapfile containing a .ppt file?

I'm pretty sure that a large PPT file I had on my desktop has been
saved as a swapfile in a private folder on my Mac PowerBook.
Unfortunately, I am having no luck opening the swapfile. I've tried
resaving it as a .ppt file, as well as opening it on a Windows PC and
trying to open it--no luck. Any suggestions?
