How do you print png graphic in Word or PowerPoint?

When I try to print a png graphic that I placed in a Word or PowerPoint
document they print with ragged edges and without the drop shadow that was in
the original graphic even though it appears correct on the screen. Is there a
setting or option I need to have checked to allow png graphic to print
correctly or are they only to be used for on screen?

Hi challenged-

You hit the nail on the head, .pngs are low res graphics intended for
on-screen/web display. Some print 'OK' depending on the nature of the image
content, but most render as you have found. The drop shadow is probably not
printing at all because it involves transparency which the file can't define
for a printing device.
