How do you save a Publisher file onto a disk?

I get a pop up message every time I try to save to a disk. It says
"Incorrect function." You do not have access... see your administrator.
This is my computer, nobody else's. What does it mean?

Publisher does not do well on removable media. Save the file to your hard drive and
copy to the disk.

Maybe it's because I am "old school" but I never save anything directly to
any removable media. I save on my hard disk first then copy over to whatever
(disk, card, floppy).
