How do you set tasks that go on throughout the project duration?

I want to set tasks such as risk management, that go on for the entire
duration of the project, but do not affect the project length or the critical
path.

Hi Al,

In every project there are activities which are managerial in nature
and the way I have handled them is by providing 'buckets' for their
activities.

What I did was to create an Activity called 'Management Functions' to
cover : Risk Management, Project Direction, Project Updation (this
includes the time for reporting from Project Manager / Project Control
Office), Infrastructure Activities and similar activities. The overall
activity of Management Functions' will be within the plan but is
'outside' the scope of main project activities.
