How do you stop graphics from pushing up text when making labels?

This is my microsoft word pet peeve and I'm hoping that someone can help me!
Whenever I make labels or materials for my classroom the text is pushed off
center by whatever pictures I insert. I turn the picture into a floating
item, but I can't get the text to center vertically on the label when there
is a picture involved without putting the text in a text box which takes a
lot of time.

Thank you!!

Hi Mandy,

Have you tried formatting the picture to be in front of or behind the text? If I understand the issue, that should achieve the
desired outcome. Formatting the picture doesn't affect the position of either the text or the picture, it simply allows them to
overlap without the formatting/position of one affecting the formatting/position of the other.

Cheers
