How do you temporarily turn off the little clipboard

That little clipboard that automates this when you copy paste, how do you
temporarily turn it off?

I can't paste properly because when I do the drag, it jumps to cells way
further down that I want to go!

Preferences/Edit, uncheck the "Show Paste Options buttons" checkbox.

Thanks JP, I think that may have worked. I did a command . Before doing
anything and I got the paste I wanted. I wonder if the little clipboard will
come back.

Thanks JE for the permanent fix. Perversely enough, I sometimes like that
feature in that it will zoom to the end of what you want selected.
