How do you type words having each letter be a different color?

I am trying to print labels and I would like to have each letter on the label
a different color. I can see that in word art I can achieve this but it has
a shadow behind the name and adress, how can I eliminate this shawdow?

Use the Shadow Style tool on the Drawing toolbar to select No Shadow.
