How does ohotfix handle updates thare already installed?

If i have added one msp patch to the other msp's in the folder with
ohotfix in how will a client that has al of the patches except for the
new one process the patches.

will it still have to load up each patch to discover it is installed
already or will ohotfix knwo it is installed somehow.

I am concerned using ohotfix for machines wil Dial up connections over
pstn or isdn. i each updates has to be evaulauated each time this
would mean each patch would have to downloaded just to evaluate it
..which at 10mb for some patch would be unfeasible.

can anyone shed any light?
