How does one buy and download 2003?

I've spent over an hour trying to buy and download Office 2003 from Microsoft but all I can find is the trial CDs via snail mail. Is it possible to just pay and download the real thing? Does Microsoft actually sell this product or do you have to buy it from a retailer or wholesaler?

Microsoft only offers some trials for download and never any full version.
You can either purchase it from a brick and mortar shop or online. You
might want to check online for the best price which is usually an online
purchase.

You're not the only one, as far as I can tell you can't
buy Office from Microsoft themselves. Must be the only
company that don't sell their own products retail.

Why not buy it from an online store like Amazon or such?
(That's what I did.)

.
AND THAT is BECAUSE they'd HAVE to provide support.
Whereas when you buy it in a store you get put on terminal
hold and then interrogated 10x over until you can get to
your question. Also, once your "support" runs out you have
to pay what seems like by the minute for assistance.
