I wish to set up a download shop.
I understand that anyone that really wants to, can get at the goods without
going through the right channels. The rare individual that does so is likely
to be worth more in terms of marketing than s/he costs me in stolen
bandwidth! So I am not too fussed about the occasional pirate raid.
What I want is to set up a subweb that ideally, only allows access to
someone referred from specific third party merchant purchase completion
pages (Eg PayPal returned clients). I imagine that this is best achieved by
stealth: As the site will change on a regular and random basis, pirate links
will generally be a waste of time for those not savvy enough to get past the
hidden urls - the question is:
How do you set up a subweb so that the url does not show up on any of the
conventional access programs such as Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Getright,
etc...?
If there is another way of securing a subweb with FrontPage, apart from
stealth (hiding the url or part thereof) do tell...?
Thanks in Advance...
