Hi Yogi,
This is a configuration item, in PWA a PM might not necessarily see team
members task. If you have set up the RBS and categories then it can be done.

Secondly, task notes typed in Project Pro by the PM can be seen by the team
member via My Tasks. The team member can add to the notes and they are
updated to the task. The PM can see these when he approves the updates or in
the notes field in the plan.

Thankyou Ben.
Hmmm so the PM only read the comment only when he approve his employee task...
I wan to ask you further about RBS.
What RBS is all about?
You mean that if i set something in RBS, mY PM can see his employee task?
How could i set that RBS?
Thank you.

Dear Ben,
I find in PWA-> server setting-> Manage categories -> my task .
In this link , i change the Projects parts :
- i set : All current and future projects in Project Server database
- i set : The User is the Project Owner or the User is the Status Manager on
assignments within that Project
- then i saved.
Does it mean that the PM could see the task that he has assigned to his
employee in My Task page (in PWA).
But the employee task hasn't been seen yet.
Is RBS necessary to set too?
I still have got problem to set RBS. Cause i tried to set RBS in resource
sheet in proj prof 2007 but there is no value in that list. Itried to set
customize field in RBS's Field but there is no field that i could write
(everything disable).
Then i tried to set RBS form resource center in PWA but i could write
anything in that field too...
Could you explain to me?
Thank you.

Hi Yogi,
The default categories should suffice for most organisations. I wouldn't
change the default ones, rather I would create new ones based on the default
ones and associate those to the relevant groups.

To Set the RBS, you need to set this up as an enterprise field. The
project server expert link on the other post will help, (though it is written
for 2003 and you are using 2007).

If you need your PMs to see all tasks for people that report to them, then
the easiest way to do this is to put the PM in the resource managers group,
and then create some resource centre views based on the RBS. Alternatively,
before creating the RBS, you can just select the relevant resources from the
resource centre to view the assignments.

Dear Ben,
I have tried your sugggestion. This the way :
1. I set RBS for A : Div.Subdiv then for B : Subdiv ( i have made RBS :
div.subdiv.team)
2. i put A in resource manager categories
3. I create view in resource center
4. When i see the view (i logged in as A). the result is : i only see
Resource A only, but actually in RBS, B is belong to A right?
5. Any something that i miss?

Can you verify what rules are currently enabled around resources for the
category(s) that are associates to "Resource Managers" group. Make sure the
RBS rules are enabled and that the "See Enterprise Resource Data" permission
is enabled on the group/category relationship.
