How enter work for task/project not assigned to ?

Hello,
Is there any (usable) way to enter work to a task in a project not assigned
to as a resource or member?

What's the best practices for this kind of situation if there is any?

You have a couple of options:

1. Ask your project manager to assign you to the task in the project plan,
then enter the time in your PWA timesheet

2. Use the "Assign myself to an existing task" option in the View My Tasks
page, and after the project manager approves your self-assignment, you can
enter time in the PWA timesheet

3. If the task does not already exist in a project plan, use the "Create a
new task" option in the View My Tasks page, after the project manager
approves your new task, you can enter time in the PWA timesheet

Option #2 above assumes you are using Project Server 2003. Hope this helps.

Thanks for Your answer and this "soft of helps", but let me refine my
question:

Scenario:
- Resource is normally able to enter work to administrative projects only ie
is not assigned to any "real" company projects
- From time to time she/he helps projects in various tasks and would like to
enter this work as easily as possible to these particular projects.

Ofcourse normally he/she would not like to see these other projects as
assigned to ;o)

Is this possible?

And yes the all versions are 2003SP1...

No, a resource cannot submit Work for a project to which he/she is not
assigned tasks. Therefore, your choices include the three I mentioned in my
previous post. Hope this helps.
