How Entourage Handles Secondary SMTP address???

Hi Experts,

Am an Exchange/outlook guy, few of our users are using Entourage to
connect to the exchange server at work. I am facing a couple of issues
with those MAC..

1) A Mac user is creating a meeting and he is using the secondary SMTP
address of his coworker, when doing this he is not able to view the
Free/busy information, but he can with the primary SMTP address......I
havent had a look at his desktop as I am miles away from the user.
I just wanted to know, when user enter a email address doesnt it get
resolved to the display name and point to the primary email address
(as IN outlook).

2) A different user from the same location say that her mails are
being sent out from her secondary address, again my question refering
to outlook - doesnt Entourage pick the primary email address while
sending out mail messages??

Can anybody help me out on this....or a clue - I couldnt even conculde
if it is a Entourage issue or my server issue (The same users mailbox
works perfectly fine with outlook)

To the best of my knowledge (I'm certainly not an Exchange expert), when
Entourage does a GAL lookup, which is an LDAP lookup, it only sees one
E-mail address, which I'm assuming is the primary address. I don't
believe it has the ability to see more than just the primary address.

What is the situation that requires the meeting creator to use the
secondary address rather than the primary? Are they in different domains?

Have her check Tools --> Accounts --> <her Exchange account>. The E-mail
address is set there.

Hope this helps!

Thank you bill,
I've never been so stupid
I found that the user's mailbox is in newyork server but the calendars
are still pointing to the Singapore server. (This user has been
recently moved from singapore). Do you think this may be the reason,
his free/busy info is not displayed for other users? But it is working
in outlook.
I will tried outlook /cleanfreebusy switch, also I resetted the
PR_Profile using MFCMAPI, either didnt work.
The next option I have in mind is do a mailbox move again to see if it
takes the newyork public folder server.

For the second problem I reported, I requested the user to create a
new profile and it worked.

That leads me to believe your user may have also switched domains.
Correct? You may have two different free/busy servers. And if you have
two different servers then they may not be communicating with each other
if you're trying to schedule resources in each domain.

To determine the best servers for his current location have him log in
too Outlook and then hold the Control key as you also right-click on the
Outlook icon in the System Tray near the clock. Select the status option
and you'll see the appropriate servers.
For the second problem I reported, I requested the user to create a
new profile and it worked.

That's at least a step in the right direction. ;-)
