How I finally got SP1 to install

FYI - I was having the same problem that several people have reported with
Office 2003 SP1 failing to install. The error I was getting was that
SKU011.CAB could not be found and that my original installation source could
be corrupted. After trying both SP1 file versions as well as the online
Office Update with the same error, what I did was run the repair utility,
e.g., from Word - Help - Detect and Repair. After running this, the SP1 ran
fine.

The Detect and Repair did not allow SP1 to update
properly for me, sadly. Did you reinstall Office before
you ran Detect & Repair? - Leland

No, I didn't have to reinstall Office. The Detect and Repair was able to do
its thing because when I had originally installed office, I had selected the
option to retain the install files on my hard drive (in C:\MSOcache I
think). Good luck.
