How import a MS Excel Userform into Mac Excel?

Chet

Does anyone know if I can import a userform that I created in MS
Excel 2003 INTO Mac Excel 2004? I've been able to put the module code
from MS to Mac Excel but not the userform. I would hate to have to
recreate the userform again in Mac Excel. (I can't find any Mac
centered Excel programming groups out there even!)

Thanks,
Chet

It's been a while, but I used to program MS Word userforms in in Office97
because (again, based on foggy recollection) that was the last version that
was 'fully' compatible over to versions of Mac Office available at the time.

I don't have 97 to test with at work anymore, but if you have trouble
bringing the userform over directly (what types of errors is it giving you?)
then one thing you might try is saving it as an Excel97 file. If the userform
makes it through the regression to 97, then you might be able to open that
97-format file on the Mac side. You might have to actually find a machine
with 97 on it, and check to see if the userform made it through and if it
needs any tweaking, but that's my best suggestion- good luck!

The problem is that there is no menu functionality to import the
userform in! (I looked everywhere I could think of too.).. I don't
have 97 either.. Thanks Chet

In my case (again, using MS Word, but I'd assume they are similar) I didn't
import single bas or frm files- I had the entire file in Office-97 format,
and Mac users reported they were able to open it (and use my userforms)
without problem on the versions that were current at the time. It seems to me
that at some point the Mac VBA support diverged from being PC compatible, but
I don't have a Mac so I can't confirm this, or tell which version was the
first affected.

When you indicate
no menu functionality to import the userform in!

That makes me think you are working with the individual userform file, as
opposed to the whole file. I haven't attempted what you are describing, so I
can't promise it will work, just describing what approach I would take. I
would save the whole file in 97 format, then try to open it in Mac. Finding a
PC with 97 installed was only in case you needed it for troubleshooting. If
you did save the whole file to (PC) 97 format and that still wouldn't open on
the Mac, then I'm out of ideas.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
