how is a diagram format autoshape size changed?

Help me, please.

Word 2003 organization diagram - cannot figure out how to set autoformatting
for consistent autoshape size and text. Also cannot figure out how to resize
autoshapes. The Format AutoShape Size (height, width) are grayed out.

You have to disable Auto Layout in order to make changes to a single box.
