How is this done?

Can somebody please help me understand how something on a web page has been
done and I could do something similar.

The page is www.doyourownsite.co.uk/ and I am interested in the "Did you
know" section on the right. Every time the page refreshes the content
changes.

Hope somebody could help

I looked at another post and someone suggested it is called content
management (system). I did a google and came up with
http://www.mamboserver.com/ If you visit their gallery section and then
click on one of the galleries, you'll probably see what you're talking
about.
