How make link to PDF file link save by default

I have a link to a PDF file on my web site.

If anyone clicks on it the PDF file opens in a new window.

Is it possible for the file to automatically save on the user's
desktop by default instead of opening in a window?

If so, how??

You can place the PDF file in a ZIP file and that will force them to either
save to their computer or open in Adobe (or other PDF reader).
