How many license / activations are there?

I am about to start using two Macs - one at the office and one at home. Adobe tell me that I can install Creative Suite twice - ie two activations … hurrah :)

Is there something similar with Office 2008? I will never be able to use both computers at the same time, so it would be annoying to require two full copies of the software!

Thanks

It would be indeed, but you will have to do this unless a) one of the
computers is a desktop machine and the other is a laptop AND b) they both
belong to you. If these conditions are not met, you are legally required to
get two product keys.

Actually, they both belong to me, but I am ditching my PowerBook in favour of two iMacs (for my posture!)

As it happens I've ordered an upgrade for Office 2004 and a complete copy of Office 2008. So I will need both :-(

The Home & Student Edition of Office 2008 that I got came with three Product
Keys. Possibly the EULA differs depending on the version of Mac Office,
just as it does for Office 2003/2007.

Hi Malke,

it is indeed a great deal, but the EULA specifies that you are not allowed
to use it for commercial purposes. The OP intends to use it at work, so he
would automatically transgress the EULA if he were to use the Home & Student
Edition.

Thanks for pointing that out. I've got a lot of clients moving to the Mac
and this is just the sort of information they are going to want.
