How migrate emails and address book to new computer?

I am certain there are a number of good how-to tutorials out there - can
someone point me to a few they know are accurate and reliable?

I am upgrading to a new system and want to move all of my emails and address
book to it. But because of a number of nuisances that have crept up in my
existing Outlook I do not want to migrate accounts, rules, etc. to the new
computer, just the raw data (emails and address book).
