Looking to understand how MS Project allocates work across time. Using MS
Project Pro 2007 in 2007 server , Dec CU applied.
Resource is allocated at 80% to a 4.5hr task. Based on this MS Project
allocates 0.2hrs for every 15 minute increment, or 0.8hrs per hours based on
the 80% allocation - right?
O.K.... so if the resource reports actuals of 1hr for the task the first day
MS Project appears to recalculate the allocation and applies 0.03hrs per 15
minute increment, or 0.12hrs per hour for 8 hrs- right?
But then it only applies 7 hrs to the first day and moves 0.12hrs to the
next day... why?
If the resource does not update the task the next day and then finishes the
task on the third day the actuals in PWA My Tasks report as 0.875hrs day 1,
0.125hrs day 2, 3.5hrs day3... when the actuals are really 1hr day1, zero day
2, 3.5hrs day 3... why?
Is there a setting driving this, or something I have configured, or the way
we use the 80% allocation to tasks?
