How much bandwidth for Groove?

We recently purchased Office Ultimate 2007 and it includes Groove. Our
question is regarding the bandwidth. One woman uses her laptop in a remote
part of the state and wants to be able to connect effectively using her
wireless card from Cingular. What is the recommended bandwidth? I'm not
very technical so I hope you understand my question! Thanks!

Hi '66 -

You need to take care with Groove on a wireless plan. Groove sends "ping"
messages, all the time it is running. These can very quickly use up all your
allotted bandwidth.

It is impossible to estimate how much since it depends on how many contacts
your colleague has, and how many spaces she is member of.

I'd be looking for a genuinely unlimited monthly plan if I were to use
Groove over a cellphone.

Hi

we recently used groove across cell phones at 115 Kbps
groove is quite happy with this much for all things like forms and
discussions / calendars etc - with large files this can be a royal pain as
cell lines do break often and retransmits then use up bandwidth

a lot depends as Mark said about number of workspaces and members - and the
tools in use - and yes it helps to not add all members to My Contacts as this
launcbar tool then starts searching for members awareness and eats up
bandwidth continuously.
