How much text will fit in one cell using Word 2007?

I have a lot of text in one cell in Word. The problem is that even if I
resize the cells, all of the words do not show up and they don't move on to
the next page. So, is there a limit on the number of words you can fit in one

No, there isn't a limit. But if the table is "floating" instead of "in
line with text", then it can't cross a page boundary.

With the cursor in the table, go to the Table Tools > Layout tab of
the ribbon and click the Properties button near the left end. In the
dialog, under "Text wrapping", click the None button and click OK.

If the table is already in line (wrapping is None), maybe the row
height is set to an exact value. In the same Properties dialog, click
the Row tab. If the "Specify height" box is checked and the rightmost
dropdown is set to "Exactly", either change the dropdown to "At least"
or uncheck the box.

Actually, in Word 2002 and above, wrapped tables can by default be broken
across pages. For compatibility with earlier versions, however, you may wish
to enable the Compatibility Option "Don't break wrapped tables across
pages."

In addition to Jay's comments, also on the Row dialog under Table Properties,
check the options for "Allow row to break across pages". This setting can be
applied to the whole table or individual rows, your choice.

I appreciate all your help, but none of these things worked. In addition, I
did not set row heights, but they are there; and when I try to unclick the
option, it won't change. Any other ideas?

Sorry to hear none of the usual fixes helped.
Also worrying that the row height will not turn off.
Question, is it just one row or the whole table that wont expand to fit your
text?
Is it a complex table, i.e. multiple merged cells (vertically and
horizontally)? If not, do a test, copy the whole table (or just the row that
you are having problems with if the table if very large), go to a clean page
or new document, paste special unformatted text. Select the text, Table,
Convert, Text to Table, check the Tabs options at the bottom for the
"Separate text at" options, OK. This will create a table based on the text
and nothing else. Does this create a good table with expanded cells fitting
your text?
If this does that could mean that the problem table is probably starting to
corrupt for whatever unknown reason and best to be removed from the document
instead of trying to fix the unfixable.
Please come back with the outcome, it would be interesting to know.
