I have just upgraded my application from Access 2000 to
Access 2002.
I have defined a custom menu bar for my application. When
I start up my application the default menu bar is always
displayed but is correctly replaced by my custom menu bar.
When my application was using the Access 2000 Runtime,
both menu bars would be displayed but was not noticeably a
problem because they occupied the same row on the toolbar.
ie. the application toolbar was one row high and the
default menu bar was displayed first followed by my custom
menu bar. On faster computers this was less of a problem
because users could not see the change in menu bar. My
custom menu bar remained visible while the application was
running which is exactly what I want.
Unfortunately, after I upgraded to Access 2002, the menu
bars appeared on separate rows and then the default menu
bar disappears. The tool bar 'shrunk' from 2 rows to 1
row. Although the default menu bar disappears after start
up - I find it undesirable that the default bar should
show at all during start up.
I would like to know:
1. If it is possible to prevent the default menu bar from
dislaying at all during start up (while I can achieve this
on my development machine, once the application is
installed on a different machine the default menu bar
reappears).
2. How can I make the menu bars appear on the same row in
the tool bar like it currently does in Access 2000? This
way it is less obvious to the user that there is a change
in menu bar.
The customize/toolbars option - show standard and
formatting toolbars on two rows is not enabled and checked
by default (Access 2002).
Thanks in advance.
