how percent complete is calculated for nested summary tasks

I remember a Microsoft tech document published in the mid
90's that explains the algorithm used by Microsoft to
calculate percent complete for nested summary tasks. Can
anyone direct me to the latest version of it? and will the
same logic apply to the rollup of %complete in grouped
tasks?

Hi,

I think it's something like total actual duration complete / Total Duration

Hello Greg,

The % Complete is a % in duration (there is also a % Work Complete).
At the Summary level, the % Complete is the ratio between the sum of Actual
Duration of sub-tasks and the sum of the scheduled Durations of these
sub-tasks.
