How print only date and not time in mail merge ?

I have database in SQL and I am trying to use mail merge function in word to
retreive information from my SQL database.

If I try to print shipdate, it prints 09/03/2003 11:00:01 AM.

I just want to print date and not time.

Any suggestion ?
