How should I upgrade Office XP Professional, version 2002?

I have Office XP Professional Special Edition version 2002 installed over
Office 2000 Premium Edition. I wish to be able to email MS Publisher finshed
products, such as a newsletter.
If I purchase and install Office 2007 Student and Teacher edtion, will I be
able to email my completed Publisher works?
How should I best upgrade my O XP PSE v. 2002 in order to meet my needs?
Thanks.

Office XP is a qualifying product for any upgrade edition of Office 2007.

Office 2007 Home and Student is for non-comerical use and does not include
Outlook 2007.

Microsoft does not provide a viewer for Publisher documents. You should
consider save as in an other format for email. Microsoft does have a free
save as PDF format add-in that is compatible with Publisher 2007. Adobe
Reader and other PDF viewers are also free.

Don...I use Outlook Express, and it so far has met my needs. I am hopelessly
ingnorant of the capabilities of Outlook, so Office Teacher/Student 2007
would probably be Ok for me.
I can view PDF files, but don't know how to convert files well. When I do
what I am able to do, the form of the .pub document is lost--I get the words,
but streamed down the left side of a page.
I what to retain the form of the newsletter, and be able to send it to my
websergeant for publication on our Old Marine website, and to the printer for
our mailer.

It sounds like I really need to upgrade to Office 2007, I surmise, in order
to do what I want to do, and you have told me that it should overlay what I
have OK. Do you agree? Would you recommend Teacher/Student or Grownup edition?

If I understand you original question and the follow-up comments, you are
creating a Publisher file that you want to send to two different locations
for printing and web inclusion.

First, if you are creating the .PUB file in publisher, you don't need
another version of Publisher if the version you have is sufficient to
produce the look of the product you desire. You simply need to get it to
the two locations in a form they can use. (No version of Office
Home/Student/Teacher has MS Publisher as a component.)

Creating a PDF file is ideal for this purpose as the PDF can be printed at
your off-site printer and also it can be placed on a web page.

To create the PDF file from your publisher file, I would recommend a free
downloadable program that I and many others use. It is PrimoPDF and can be
downloaded free from
http://www.download.com/PrimoPDF/3000-10743_4-10264577.html?part=dl-10264577&subj=dl&tag=button.
Save the file to your hard drive and once saved go to it and install the
program. Once installed it will create a new Printer in the drop down list
of printers available in Publisher and all other programs that can print on
your computer.

When you want to print the Publisher file, simply print to the PrimoPDF
printer.

When the printer opens it will ask about the location to store the file and
other information. I recommend you also read the manual for the printer
driver which can either be viewed online or downloaded from
http://www.primopdf.com/primopdf_support.htm (left side of at bottom.)

Once you have told the program the name and where to save the PDF file on
your hard drive, you can then ATTACH that file to the Outlook Express email
that you create to send the file to the two locations.

One other item, if you don't have a PDF reader program on your computer I
recommend Foxit Reader free from http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/. A
simple to use, fast and very small program compared to Abobe Reader.

Hope this helps, let us know.
