login project server using project pr..

Hi THere,

I have a project professional 2003 in my pc. the local system is windows
XP. also, I installed project server 2003 in a windows server 2000
enviroment. Under this configration, I can log on the project server using
the professional as a windows account user. If I install the professional in
a windows 2000 server and using it to access project server, it shows me that
it cannot log on the server.

Can you give me any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Robert

Normally it works but there are few things to check here
1. Is your 2nd windws 2000 server is in the same domain as project
server
2. When creating account in professional to connect to project server
did you test the account. If yes what was the error message.
3. if win 2000 server is not on the same domain -
Go to Internet options of IE
Click Security
Trusted Sites
Custom Security Settings
Scroll down and Select - Prompt for user name and password
and click ok.

You have to make sure that a prompt appears when you try to test your
project server account. Enter your windows User account to access the
machine. Then your project server account will work

Hope this helps

Robert:

If you're installing Project Pro to the same server running Project Server,
you may need to add an entry to your hosts file on that server resolving the
netbios name. Do not use localhost in your URL.
