How to achieve content filtering in word

I am looking for a way to mark sections of my word document as different
levels and then using a filter to filter out only the contents pertaining to
a specific level. Anyone knows how to do that?
Your help will be highly appreciated.

If Outline view doesn't cut it, you have better supply more information
about what you are trying to do.

In more detail, we have several projects ongoing at the same time. And the
design documents for the projects are very similar to each other with small
differences here and there. So we plan to have a master document that
contains informations for all the projects. Then for the differences, we'll
try to somehow mark it saying this paragraph/bullet belongs to project #n.
Then when someone only want to see the design document for project #1, the
master document will be filtered and only the contents belong to project #1
shows up.
I tried to use the outline view but don't think that can work.
Anyother way you can think of?
Thanks.

Although not aimed at your specific problem you could use the methods
described at http://www.gmayor.com/SelectFile.htm to insert the variable
texts in bookmarks of docvariables based on a user prompt rather than a form
field or check box.

If you want to make it altogether more elegant (and complex) see also
