How to activate icon style box when it is grey on the toolbar

T

Tammy

I added the style icon on my toolbar but it came in as grey instead of normal
color. I am unable to click the icon and, therefore, cannot edit or select
any styles that are within that document template. The styles do exist
because when I use the drop list that identifies styles, they are there. I
enjoy having the icon style because it allows me to access the styles quicker
than going to "format" "style", etc. Does anyone have any suggestions, thank
you.

Hi Tammy -

Try Ctrl+Clicking the button & choosing 'Reset Command'... and - just to
cover a more obvious base - a doc must be open for this button to be active.

Also, have you tried using the Formatting Palette? It may even be more
useful than the Style button.

Hi Tammy:

I think you may have copied the "icon" instead of copying the "command and
its icon" to your toolbar.

Remove what you have, and use the procedure in the Help topic "Add or remove
buttons, menus, and commands" to correctly insert the live command.

Cheers
