How to add a customised tab to the New Office Document dialogue?

I want to add a customised tab to the dialogue box that opens when creating a
New Office Document, but cannot find any help online. I know it can be done
because I've seen bespoke tabs added to office. Can anyone recommend a site
that offers advice on this, or explain the basic steps of the process if it
is not too difficult?

Excellent! Many thanks, because the fact that you need to put something in
the folder had me completely foxed. Works fine now and across the whole of
Office.
