How to add a placeholder to master page?

Hi,

I would like to know how to add a placeholder to the
master page layout (NOT the title slide layout.)

All of our presentations have a headline and a subhead.
Different fonts/sizes.

Is there any way to ADD a placeholder for a subtitle to
the inside master pages?
