How to add fields to an import specification (fixed-length text)

I want to add four more fields to an existing table and existing import
specification. They work together now just fine. The import spec is for a
fixed-length text file. How do I do that? I have added the four text
fields to the table, the text file to be imported and the import spec, but
the changes to the import spec fail to be saved.
