How to add more addresses to an address file

In Word, I have created a list of addresses and then the letter. I then
realized I needed to add more addresses to the list. How do I do that? When
I 'edit' the list, there is not option to add any new addresses to the list.

Which Word version and how did you create the list?
My guess is that you are using Word 2007 which has an ambiguous dialog
