How to add the additional fonts in the fonts section?

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I downloaded some fonts from a website and it's in the computer fonts folder but they do not show in the words font page. How do I get those fonts in word ?

They must be in Library/Fonts or ~Library/Fonts. You must also quit Word and restart it before the fonts will appear.
