How to address a control on a subform (from the main form)?

Is it possible to address a specific control on a subform from the main
form.



On the subform I have a control (subform footer) that contains a sum of
records shown in the detail section.



I would like to use that value on the main form (to calculate
ValueOnTheMainForm - SumOfValuesOnTheSubform)
