HOW TO ALIGN A LIST OF NUMBERS AFTER A TEXT

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC Hello,

First, sorry for my poor english,

I'm trying to write something that looks like this:

TextTextText 0 0
TextTextTextText 0 0
TextText 0 0
Text 0

Text, then in the same line, with spacing, numbers,

What I'm doing is:
-type the word, then press the space bar until I reach the point where I want my number, type the number,
-then press return go to the next line, type my word, press space till I reach the point where the other number is, type the new number,
-press return again, type the next word, space bar till I get the point where the other numbers are, type the number, and so on.

But this isn't working, cause the numbers aren't aligned like this :

TextTextText 0
TextTextTextText 0
TextText 0
Text 0

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

No, the 'spacebar method' went out with the typewriter :) Electronically
produced documents most commonly use proportional spacing so the amount of
space is variable. What you want to produce is a tabular list which can be
done in either of 2 ways;

1- Use the Tab key to create the space between content, or

2- Use a Table

See this article for information on both methods;

Thank you very much !!

I used the tab key method since I'm still not familiar with tables (even that I

assume they're pretty easy to work with).

Again thank you.

Tabs are fine. The major advantages of a Table are that they are a little
faster to work with, more readily accommodate lengthier list items & provide
more formatting options. However, a tabular list can later be converted to a
Table & vice-versa.

Just make sure you press the Tab key only once where you want to create the
separation rather than pressing it repeatedly to 'force' the alignment...
Even if the content doesn't align as you want it to. You can then select the
paragraphs & create Custom Tab settings on the Ruler in order to align the
tabbed columns of content. If you press the Tab key more than once in some
paragraphs it makes it much more difficult to adjust the spacing.
