how to alter placement of text on screen

Saudades

Somehow I must have changed a setting so that the text appears in the center
of the screen (as though I had narrowed the left margin) rather than at the
extreme left as I want it. Can anyone help me change this back?

Thanks,
S.

My ruler has gone crazy. I finally figured out how to get the text back
toward the left portion of the screen by adjusting the ruler, but now
whenever I finish a paragraph and press enter, I am brought to a tab indent
on the next line instead of flush to the left margin. How do I get rid of
this?

Hi Saudales,

I use Word 2003.

If you look at the ruler at the top of your page, you can usually click
on the left tab marker (it looks like an "L" in bold font) and drag it
down into the document with your mouse. That will eliminate it in Word
2003, but I'm not sure which version of Word you're using, so this may
not be of much help, as I'm not familiar with Word 2000.
