How to apply Office 2000 updates on locked-down system?

If I just install SR1 as administrator, other users can not start
office - they get windows installer error. If I grant them
administrative rihts everything is ok.

When just installing office from cd I need to apply proper transform
so that non-administrative users could run office.

Is there some trick when applying office 2000 sr1?

Of course you can apply the service packs from common share point. I
don't have a link for Office 2k but for Office XP the tech article can
be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/learning/books/itpro/feature/110602.asp

I suggest print & read the entire article to stream line the process.
With Office XP and newer everything is simple and straight-forward.
Office 97 is simple because MS distributed Office 97SR2 set. Office
2000 is kind of difficult to maintain.

My problem was that I would prefer to install from cd. But I will try
to make administrative installation point, update it and write on the
cd.

Thanks for the link.
