How to assign keys to styles and macros in Word, PowerPoint?

In Word 2003, I developed a very sophisticated set of keyboard shortcuts for
both styles and macros. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create
a macro, let alone how to assign a key combination.

And nowhere in the style operations do I see how to assign keys to those.

And for styles, you can still apply a keyboard shortcut via the Modify Style
dialog box.
