How to automatically change the dictionary

Hello,

I use Office 2004 and I often write documents and email in both French
and English.
I have both keyboard layout configured and flip between the language
as needed.

Unfortunately, each time I need to go in the Tools menu and specify
the dictionary I want to use.
I there a way to do this automatically? When selecting the keyboard
layout? I'm a previous PC user, and Office 2003 was able to
automatically detect the language, what's the MAC equivalent?

Thanks,
Charles

I don't do much dual language writing at all, but what I've done in the
past is used a separate style for each language (e.g., Body Text
English, Body Text Spanish), setting the language property of each style
appropriately. I assigned a key combination in the style names to make
switching the matter of a half-second.

I then had *both* an English and a Spanish custom dictionary active.
Each one only operated on paragraphs of the appropriate language.

That way the spell check didn't depend on anything external, such as
keyboard selection.
