How to automatically save online chat with ebay to Clipboard?

Recently after 6 years with this computer I had to have it gutted and O.S.
(Windows XP) and programs re-installed. Many subtleties and features
disappeared. For example, I've lost the ability to save an online chat
(with eBay for instance) to Notepad or Clipboard. What do I do?

Well, ask in an appropriate forum, for one thing. This forum is for questions
about the database software Microsoft Access. I'd ask in a WinXP forum.
