Hello, and first of all, thank you for taking some time to try helping me, i
appreciate.
I also appreciate "votre humour"...
Let me tell you a little bit more :
We use a portal as default background for all our PCs.
In the top left corner of the portal, we have a button that tells if we have
mail messages. That's controlled by an activeX.
By clicking the button, the activeX calls OUTLOOK.EXE.
The problem is that for every new click on the buton, another instance of
OUTLOOK GUI is oppened...
Of course users can close OUTLOOK GUI when they don't need it anymore, like
you suggest it, but at the end of the day that's can be a little bit boring...
And, if they forget to do it that becomes : mémory and time consuming, with
also the risk of loosing data...
Do you really close OUTLOOK's GUI every time you have finished reading a
mail ???
This is not acceptable in my environement, and for my users...
I have tested MSIMN.EXE to launch OULOOK EXPRESS instead of OUTLOOK.EXE,
then, only one instance of the program's GUI is oppened, no matter the number
of clicks on the activeX...
I have also tryed launching OUTLOOK.EXE outside the portal, directly from a
command line (we never know, the problem could be due to the Portal or the
ActiveX calling OUTLOOK.EXE ???), but i had the same result from the command
line : every CLICK equals a new OUTLOOK GUI started.
If i launch any MSIMN.EXE from command line, only one instance is oppened...
Is there a switch, a registry entry,... to avoid OUTLOOK GUI be oppened more
than once ?
I hope that's clearer.
Thanks again for your help.
Thierry.
